Thanks God!

Last Jan 14, 2009, I was on my way to Lopez, Quezon to visit the wake of my librarian-friend , Vilma G. Anday (former Chief Librarian of UP-Los Banos) when something happened. Just a few meters away from the memorial chapel (St. Peter) where the remains of my friend was laid in estate, a closed van was zigzaging toward our direction. The driver of the bus (Raymond 5308) made a sudden stop to avoid collision with the oncoming van. The impact was so great that I was pushed to the front resulting minor bruises on my right face and arms. The van, on the other hand, made a turtle turn on its own hitting no one. Thanks God, otherwise , it would be a great disaster.

Despite this incident , I was able to attend the funeral rites which lasted up to 2:30 PM. The eldest daughter of Vilma, Audrey was kind enough to provide me a cold compress for my bruises. I arrived home (Iriga City, Camarines Sur) safe and sound. I would never forget this one.

You might be wondering why I took the trouble of travelling five long hours just to attend her wake. The answer is plain and simple ....... we are both a breast cancer patient. The only difference is that, I am a survivor and she is not. I was operated in 1992 and with the grace of God, I am still alive and kicking.

I am sick

The entry of 2009 was really bad for me. Healthwise , I am not the same. The ever recurring fever and UTI still persist. I really need to have an executive check up. To my friends out there, please pray for me.

Back to work

After a long vacation (12 days), it's back to work again. I hope this new year will offer more positive vibes than negative. May God bless us all!
